I earned my doctorate in English from the University of Virginia in 2004, where I encoded texts in TEI for the Rossetti Archive and the Electronic Text Center. My dissertation is a history of the villanelle, the nineteen-line poetic form of Dylan Thomas's "Do not go gentle into that good night"; I am currently at work on a book about the poetics of Twitter.
