Geographic Location Pittsburgh, PA Current Position Director of City as Our Campus at Winchester Thurston School Biographical Text <p>Teresa DeFlitch is the Director of City as Our Campus, a preK-12 community-based learning program at Winchester Thurston School in Shadyside and Allison Park.  Teresa works with teachers and students to develop curricula that utilize city resources to close the “relevancy gap” and engage students as active learners. Alongside teachers and students, she is developing a preK-12 scope and sequence for the program with a corresponding system of assessment in order to address skills such as collaborative leadership, systems thinking, applied empathy, communication, and reflection.  The program has identified digital media integration as a strategic focus and will explore how new ideas in education and media can strengthen student learning.</p> <p>Teresa brings varied experiences to her role as an educator and administrator.
